Phil Hosking

Managing Director

Phil has a career in the environmental industry spanning more than 15 years. Working as a ranger in Victoria and later with QPWS at Lamington NP. He was employed to run practical conservation programs for CVA as a team leader for 6 years and as a program co-ordinator in the Darwin office. Over the last 7 years, Phil has grown Bushcare Services as a grass-roots owner operator, initially working bush regeneration contracts and preparing technical management plans.

Qualifications: BSc in Parks, Recreation and Heritage, Advanced Certificate in Resource Management.

Paul Ellis

Paul Ellis

General Manager

Paul has spent 17 years in the environmental restoration industry. He has a career of fifteen years co-ordinating and managing volunteers and community programs with CVA, and joined the Bushcare Services team in 2005. Paul is a senior consultant with Bushcare Services with a focus on project management. He specialises in design and mapping capabilities using applications such as GIS and CAD to complement our operations and technical plans.

Qualifications: BSc in Chemistry, Diploma in Conservation and Land Management.

Steve Towner

Operations Manager

Steve has worked in the environmental industry for 9 years, most of it as a ranger and conservation area planner for Gold Coast City Council. He has managed many conservation and ecological restoration projects and has worked in development assessment focused on design and development of parks and conservation areas. Steve specialises in ecology, project management, conservation area planning and preparation of technical management reports.

Qualifications: Bsc in Applied Science (Wildlife biology), Certificate IV in Project Management, Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management.

Birte Hosking

Birte Hosking

Financial Administrator & Botanical Technician

Birte has a working background as a GIS mapping technician at the Queensland Herbarium where she was employed to map Regional Ecosystems (RE). She was part of a team producing the RE map for the Gold Coast City Council which also included vegetation surveys. Other projects included the Noosa shire and wetlands in S.E and Western Queensland. Previous to this role, Birte worked as a biological technician for Bioconsult-a consultancy based in Denmark. She is now employed with Bushcare Services to manage accounts and act as a part-time botanical consultant.

Qualifications: Masters in Biology. Thesis paper: Structure and floristic composition of Australian Rainforest. Regional Ecosystem training.
